Building systems. Listening deeply.
Writing about technology, sound, and curiosity.

About Toby
I'm a software engineer and systems thinker. I spent seven years building data platforms at Goldman Sachs; now I build startups and explore Bitcoin infrastructure and distributed systems. Outside of that I play saxophone, care about sound, climb, and travel. Writing and community sit at the centre of how I work.
Current focus
I'm currently focused on building products at the intersection of Bitcoin, infrastructure, and real-world use. I care about durable systems, clear interfaces, and work that compounds over long horizons.
Now
A snapshot of what I'm doing and thinking about right now.
— Building Bitcoin infrastructure and real-world financial systems
— Improving saxophone tone and phrasing
— Climbing regularly
— Writing in public — essays, reflections, notes
